for the past few years i’ve been making my own journals (you’re surprised, right?). i love having something handmade and special to write in, whether it’s dreams, drawings, lists, plans, recipes, or just daily updates. i’m excited about this year’s journal because it has...

i did these mandalas for myself and a friend during the heat of summer. it was fun to see how they each had a slightly different look given the size difference between our hands. sorry for the poor lighting.

i made this unique gift for a really awesome friend. she went on medicine for cancer that was messing with her memory, and she’s a Whirlwind of a woman – always networking, supporting good organizations, and doing work for the organic/heirloom seed company that she co-manages. so when her...

i did henna with a similar theme for the same woman who had henna done on her shoulder earlier in may. i’m really pleased with this design and the style of flower especially, which is from akiyo ogura. they are fun to do, and pretty much always turn out stunning and elegant.
for the past few years i’ve been making my own journals (you’re surprised, right?). i love having something handmade and special to write in, whether it’s dreams, drawings, lists, plans, recipes, or just daily updates. i’m excited about this year’s journal because it has a spiral coptic binding that looks incredible. last year’s journal had something similar, but with less spiral action. this year’s journal also has photos on both covers, so i’m writing from both ends of the book in toward the center. what would your perfect journal look like?
